Default C.F. Martin Product Placement or Coincidence?

Charley Koontz, playing FBI Agent Daniel Krumitz on CSI: Cyber, "Corrupted Memory" episode, airing 11/15/2015, wears a T-shirt displaying "C.F. Martin - America's Guitar" in every scene in which he appears:

Fun to think the brilliant lead forensic investigator shares an interest.

Haven't noticed Martin Guitar thus far doing a lot of advertising apart from guitar specific publications and factory tours.

Directors just allowed a free personal statement by the actor? Kinda cool if so.

I have had a couple of Martin T shirts like the one he is wearing in the "let's pretend obesity is normal" campaign ad.

They came free with packs of strings.

They were horrible. Too tight round the neck yet HUGE on body and arms.

Logo printed in some thick, hard, scratchy ink so didn't even make useful polishing cloths.

I can recommend their guitars though. They are excellent !

Sadly, this is the new normal, I think.

I mean, very few people were obese 100 years ago. Growing up, I only knew a couple kids that were what was considered obese. A couple out of hundreds.

I personally think one of the biggest culprits is over processed foods but especially HFCS, which is a totally unnatural chemical and I don't think humans were ever made to eat that. There is a growing dislike for this sweetener and you are starting to see advertising for "no HFCS" and "real sugar" etc.

.

same here

When I was a kid, we went outside to play.
I remember very few obese kids.
Obesity does not have to be the new normal.
I refuse to let myself become overweight.
Eat 4,000 calories a day, but burn only 2,000 a day = weight gain.
People need to eat less and move more.
I know there are some exceptions, but that is basically it.

I think they are making it harder because more overly-processed foods now I think contribute along with a more sedentary lifestyle.

Well I know that you've fought and won an excess baggage battle of your own Jon and I congratulate you on that.

Didn't realize you were a sagger!

Yes, gained weight from around 2009 to 2014 and am back down around 175 lbs. from a peak of about 260 lbs. You'll have to do your own conversion to stones, kg, or whatever odd measurements you folks use across the way there

I'm asking this as a legitimate question and not trying to be insulting, but has this picture been photoshopped?
Please don't take this the wrong way, but the head seems to be out of scale with the body. Again, I apologize in advance if this is insulting.

I have no idea, it ain't me babe, it's just an image I plucked from Google.

Though truthfully, my body type IS similar, I am 6'4" and about 170 odd of your American pounds, but I don't think my head is out of whack ! (Well, not in that way ...)

By the 2nd post this went off track. I'd be curious to know if Martin was paying for advertising as well.

OK...Then I apologize to whoever the guy with the huge head, ( or tiny body), is in the photo.

The only way to reliably make the calories in/calories out equation work these days is to eat only unprocessed, unadulterated foods from the moment you’re weaned (and if from formula, formula without HFCS--even back in the day before formula was sold commercially, I remember that recipes for it called for Karo Light Syrup and evaporated milk). The American processed food and corn industry and its lobbies have stacked the deck against us in that regard. Very, very few people--except, perhaps, those who can either grow all their own food or afford to buy it in fully unadulterated form--are capable of eating the diets and performing the level of everyday activity our normal-weight forebears did. A century ago, people didn’t have to “exercise:” ordinary activities of daily living involved far more exertion than today.

Yes, ideally if one’s intake doesn’t exceed her or his exertion, (s)he will not get fat. But those ideal conditions hardly exist any more, and with the characteristics of today’s affordable commercially available food supply, that boat has sailed for a considerable portion of our society. So stop judging and fat-shaming people. Ironically, studies have shown that people who are not criticized for their weight but rather receive messages of acceptance go on to have the greatest success in losing weight and keeping it off.
