One down!
Our goal is 2 Kayak's but being in SW Pennsylvania we have a few months of cold to achive our goal.
Last night, off craigslist I bought a Pungo 120 with an upgraded(?) seat, carbon fiber break down paddle and a vest that will fit my son. It was used 2 times, got it for $650. BTW for others interested, the best new price I found so far is LL Bean beleive it or not. Thanks again to all for the advise. I was going to buy "Glop" plastic $400 Kayaks from Dicks sporting goods. This boat is top knotch in layout and quality! |

By the way, the subject of paddles didn't come up, but if you're going to be doing many 5+ mile trips, the lighter carbon fiber paddles are worth the extra money.

Congratulations. Great looking boat.
You are going to have to purchase an inflatable bow flotation bag. They are sold for white water boats. If that boat capsizes, the bow will fill with water and sink, the stern will bob above the surface and you will not be able to gain re-entry into the boat. Please do this before you hit the water. A rear bulkhead is not sufficient for safety. This seems like excessive caution until you do capsize. On the rest of the boat, lovely. Many good years ahead for you. |

One of the things I have always liked most about the AGF is the wide range of expertise among our members, and the way people enjoy helping one another. This thread is but another example!
