I still remember Brett scoring the "crease" OT Stanley Cup winner.

Pens just won and Malkin had 4 points! Great to see him step up in the vocal department yesterday and then back it up with 4 points.

Carey Price is back in the Montreal lineup and he got the Win last night. Condon did a great job in his absence.

What about the new 3-on-3 format for this season's all star game? What a joke. They also got rid of the Fri night draft which was entertaining.

Pens lose to San Jose and don't look wonderful in the process. Geno has stepped up in the last 2 games with 5 points. Sid is still non existent with 1 point. He is on track for 9 goals this season. Best player in the world? He isn't even the 3rd best player on the team. I have given him the benefit of the doubt for way too long. He needs to visit Marc Andrea's shrink!

Pens regressed some from their recently improved play against Minnesota and Colorado. I thought their effort was good but I saw too many cutesy passes resulting in turnovers and very little of the 'drive to the net' mentality which had resulted in 8 goals in their previous two games. They got outplayed and yet San Jose's margin of victory was the result of two very fortuitous deflections off of Penguin defenders that ended up in the net.

As for Crosby's lack of production I haven't a clue about the cause. He's looked lackadaisical in a handful of games, and energized in about the same number. The rest of the time he's looked pretty much like a league average 3rd line center. Lately I've thought he's presented the more energized version but he's still struggling to put the biscuit in the basket.

I didn't see the game (I watched the beginning and ending of the Bruins/Maple Leafs game). No one knows what is wrong with Sid. Hopefully the 2nd half of the season, when we get there, will be a different one for Sid and gang. We need him next year for the World Cup of Hockey!

I was a little worried the Rangers would have a drop off this year but so far they look as strong as ever.

Yep, Nash is back and he had a hat trick the other night.

Speaking of the Rangers, they just surpassed Toronto as the #1 most valued NHL franchise on the Forbes list:
  1. NY Rangers - $1.2B
  2. Montreal Canadiens - $1.18B
  3. Toronto Maple Leafs - $1.15B
  4. Chicago Blackhawks - $925M
  5. Boston Bruins - $750M

I like Nash but he concerns me in the playoffs. He doesn't seem to be able to turn his game up enough to produce the way he does in the regular season.

Yep, same thing with Team Canada if I recall correctly. I'm watching the Bruins/Rangers afternoon game now. 2-2 3rd period just started. Nash had a great goal all in front of Rask.

What games are you watching tonight? I have the early Winnipeg / Washington game on now. 1-1 late 3rd period.

I'll probably suffer through the Leafs game.

Sports Illustrated "Buffalo is USA's new hockeytown"

We knew it all along.

Hockeytown USA? Is that because of all the Leafs fans that fill the place when we play there?
