Just like smoking pot leads directly to heroin addiction...
Sniffing soundholes will soon lead to glue.
Please be careful.

Some of my fondest memories are of times when I would play my walnut dread on humid days and I would catch the scent coming out of the sound hole and it would instantly take me back to the time that I spent over a heated pipe bending the sides for this guitar.
Nothing wrong with anything that puts that big of a smile on your face...

When I was 5, my dad and I went to get Krispy Kream donuts. I smelled and smelled and smelled them on the way home. My dad finally said, “Son if you keep smelling them like that, they will lose all of their taste.”

My goodness I hope Guitars don’t follow the same principle. Lol

As long as you don't get your head stuck in the sound hole you'll be fine.....

That's called "Pickin your nose". Don't do it in public.

You're right, Bard, but I believe it would be spelled "Pick in your nose".

Only on jumbo guitars. Parlor guitars tend to catch woozles.

I heard Piglet played parlors too......just a rumor though! I think Christopher Robin had a harp guitar at one point too! It was said that Eeyore packed a baritone in the early days, but only Tigger knows for sure..........

I get kind of distracted sometimes by the rich, sweet and spicy aroma of my Ramirez. I don’t even need to stick my nose into the sound hole.

That was a debate I had with myself and finally went with "pickin" for aesthetic reasons (no need to ask).

In case you were wondering (and why wouldn't you?) that's a Dark Fishing Spider, Dolomedes tenebrosus. Don't let the name fool you, they're often found quite a ways from the nearest body of water...we used to find one or two in the station house at the biology station in central TX every "winter" (though I have to admit that I'd never seen one crawl out of one of my guitars).

I'm thinking "Eight Legs A Week" by The Beetles would sound really good on that guitar.

Sound-hole sniffing. Everyone does it. We may not all admit it, but we all do it. One of the simple pleasures of this hobby.

"Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing sound-holes."

When I got my HD-28 a couple of months ago there was the danger of choking to death from the funk coming out of the sound hole (the smell--not the sound).

When I got it it had lived in its case for about 15 years without being opened. It had all kinds of weird things inside. I used almost every method I saw on the interweb to clean it out (rice, baking soda, dryer sheets, etc.--all at the same time) and now it smells fine.
