Fantastic. I've ordered the A pack to go with the other two.

Merry Christmas Toby!

PS I think that Santa may have had a bit too much Coke for his own good!

Anyone taking advantage of the weather to get in some extra practice?

Practice tip: play that tough lick you've been trying to master 10 or so times just before turning in for the night. Just to put a little icing on your cake.

I've got really distracted now.
The "One Dime Blues" encouraged me to download some more Etta Baker. I also bought a John Fahey tab book and an Ed Gerhard book. I'm also trying to add some flatpicking to the mix with the Steve Kaufman book. All that as well as your own A pack.

I keep telling myself to write out a practice schedule to get some focus.

Right now I'm studying bluegrass and I suspect that I may get around to Gypsy Jazz - another style on the bucket list - in my NEXT lifetime.

You got to pick your own battles as they say.

Some news for you all... I'll be doing another instructional DVD for Homespun in early January. It'll be something along the lines of 'Tasty Licks To Add Some Spice To Your Playing.

Stay tuned...

Just found this thread, after all this time! I have all the packs and started with the C pack, which is just great. I love the fact that Tobys lessons not onlt teach you the song, they also give you variations and lick to use within the songs. I have also most of the individual song lessons, which were bought in the recent lesson sale. At full price the lessons are great value, at the sale price they are a steal. Thanks for taking the time Toby, one of the best teachers around. Cheers.

I worked on Lesson 2 in the E-Pack over the holidays. I can now play that lesson with reasonable speed and accuracy. I am still working on finding some of my own licks with the pentatonic scales. I have started working on lesson 3!

These are great lessons and Toby does a great job of explaining what is happening with the notes and chords. Really enjoying this so far, and sounding bluesy!

Playing around with Coffee Blues and Matchbox blues from the A pack.
Coffee Blues I can do the basic tune but get scuppered swapping to the solo.

Matchbox blues I'm struggling with the timing. I can't get it to sound right as you say in the video its not a straight tempo.

Halfway through the E pack, trying to wrap my head around the Lightnin' Hopkins shuffle. I should be practicing right now, but I stabbed myself in the tip of my finger while restringing one of my guitars this morning. Dagnabbit, that smarts!
