FS: Michael Payne custom small jumbo w/sunburst! Extras included!
Up for sale is my small jumbo custom made by Texas luthier Michael Payne. This handsome guitar has a hand-rubbed sunburst finish, spruce top, Honduran mahogany back and sides, Gabon ebony bridge and fretboard, ebony bridge pins, ebony headstock plate, and curly maple body and fretboard binding. The fretboard has MOP split parallelogram inlays, and the headstock has an "MP" MOP and gold MOP logo on it. The tuners are high-quality sealed Gotoh 510s with tortoise buttons. There is a custom-cut firestripe pickguard. The guitar has a custom case with brass-finish hardware made for the small jumbo style, with the "MP" logo stitched onto the exterior.
This guitar was built for me in 2009. It has been well-cared for, but does have a couple of issues: there is slight finish hazing on the front upper and lower bout and lower back, and a scratch on the firestripe pickguard. These issues have been taken into account in the pricing. The hazing may respond well to careful buffing. It's not a big and loud guitar, but is made for moderate flat-picking/strumming and fingerstyle. Nice mellow sound. I don't have recording equipment, so I can't post sound samples. PRICE is $700 firm, plus shipping. The guitar will be shipped detuned to protect the neck. Shipping with vary depending on where it's going, so I can give you an estimate based on that.
