Are we really talking about a small mic (Meridian or Silver Bullet) with the SBT term?
No, not talking about internal mics. I realize how poorly worded my post was. I'm assuming that any "hot" UST added to the K&K (which most typically run passive) would be easier to manipulate. Since many using dual-source pickup systems use outboard Pre/DI boxes, you could also turn down or mute the K&K all together.

Been almost 8 months and I'm just now seeing this

However, when people refer to "piezo" most of the time they actually mean undersaddle. I am positive that the word was used in that context here.
Yes, this is what I meant but wasn't even thinking of the K&K as a piezo since they are so much more natural and "mic like".

Bringing this thread back because JP Cormier just discovered this pickup system and loves it.

Bringing this back around because of JP Cormier’s endorsement of this pickup system.

JP reviews the emerald X20 with ghost piezo and K&K.

Each pickup has a volume control for blending in the desired amount.

I wish I'd gone for this combo on my X20. I don't plug in very often, but the Baggs Element I opted for doesn't excite me very much when I do.

I often plug in when playing alone because it sounds so good.

The Ghost Piezo + K&K is the best acoustic pickup I have experienced.

You can probably get your Element to sound good with a preamp of some sorts?

Indeed. I’ve found that a touch of compression and a little cut around 400Hz on a graphic EQ evens things out quite nicely. It still seems to lack some definition, though.
