Hopefully I'll find some. Here's another pic I found - this cracks me up. Having Phil Keaggy hold my phone so I can read chord changes for a tune neither one of us knew....

Here is one video from the gig. This is Thomas Gabriel who is Johnny Cash's grandson. You can definitely hear the Cash DNA in his voice.
The way this gig went, I had no clue who I'd be playing with or what tunes we'd be doing. When Thomas came on stage he told us he was going to sing 2 tunes: HURT and FOLSOM PRISON. I told Phil I was more familiar with FOLSOM PRISON so I'd play that one. However, when we finished that tune Phil said he'd never even heard HURT. I had - but only a time or two. I had no clue what the chords were. So I pulled up the chords on my phone and Phil held me phone so I could read the chords while Thomas sang. My guitar was a bit out of tune from bending strings on FOLSOM PRISON, but with all the talking & finding the chords on my phone during in between songs I had no time to tune - and it turned out it was basically just me, Tim Gonzalez on harp, and Thomas on this tune, so I couldn't really stop to tune. Oh well...it was a best effort. Still pretty fun.... HURT Hope to get some more videos from the gig at some point. |
