Default McJam 2014

Hey, Hey, Hey, McJammers and future McJammers

It's time for me to get things together for the 2014 McJam.

Please know that it helps when you pre-sign up. Our local friends are wonderful to help with desk sign in, clean up and food plans. I lean on y'all for classes, Rodger and Kathy as time leaders/event organizers, Nancy for raffle, Bruce to keep the music going and the sign-in desk will have a new face to greet you. I sure hope the winds will leave Bonnie's family alone so she will be with us. It's a tough job for Mom and Lydia... hmmmm... she might choose to walk periodically.

Contact me with suggestions so we can begin getting our plans organized.
Are you going to join us? Are you bringing a friend?
Let's make the attendance list grow.
Let's make plans for classes.
Let's dig in and get your open mic tunes ready.

What would you like to see or do differently. I'm listening!

What else would you like to know? If you are interested in an attachment I will update the annual information you have received in the past.

McJam 2014
Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21
Noon - 11:00 PM both days

Tristen, we would love to have you on Saturday. Will your wife be joining you this year, too?

Summer really is just around the corner. Hopefully the weather man will throw sunshine, green grass and pleasant breezes to us on the McJam weekend in June.

I would like you to "pre-sign up now" for June 20 and 21, 2014.
Please send your entry fee during the first week of June. That should omit last minute cancellations. Make sure I have your e-mail so I can send information once we have it gathered.

I would like to hear from you concerning your suggestions on classes.

Bruce Friemark (cafeman) will be conducting a class on song sets concerning different song for different activities.

A class does not have to be educational concerning musical abilities. It can be a fun activity of your choice. Cheer the crowd and make us laugh. A few years ago we had magic tricks by Kathy's son, Travis.

The ladies are making food plans already so you know there will be plenty of variety as always. Again, our thanks to Kristen who has made arrangements with the local Dominoes to provide foods, too.

Contact your guitar loving buddies and make it a weekend of fun!

Putting a feeler out there: Wondering if a few of us could have a roundtable discussion on using alternate tunings. Any takers?

So looking forward to spring. Three mornings this week I've awakened to snow on the ground, and there's still a hefty pile on the north side of my house. Would love to see a daffodil or some forsythia -- and mostly a golf course that's open for business.

I'd be all for it unless someone brings a 12 stringer. ;o)

EDIT: any chance we could have our resident luthier give a workshop on setups or the resident French polisher on technique?

I have played my 12-string in open-G more than once - it's great fun! Wanna hear it? :-)

I suggested this one straight to the head honcho (Mary, of course!) myself; I'd love to have Tim discuss his approach to setting up the guitar.

Will be so good to see you again, Neil...and to hear you play...
