Default New Weissenborn Day

Picked this up on ebay, I've been wanted a weissenborn for some time and this was going at a good price for me.

Herrmann, made in Italy, 2003.

Spruce top, walnut back and sides, rosewood fretboard.

Sounds pretty nice, too!

Dan - jealousy noted!! I'd been jealous of others for some time now. I play quite a bit of "regular" slide and had a tricone squareneck as well - which was great, especially when playing with others - but wanted something a bit more subtle and warm. I'd been lusting after a mahogany weissenborn, but this one came up and basically swapped out the tricone for it. I wondered if I'd regret not getting a mahogany one but so far this has all the magic I hoped for.

..great examples there.

Here's one that really impressed me - not a combination I'd imagined.

Very nice! Got one myself recently - a 1927 Style 2 model. Never played one before but couldn't pass up the chance to own one. What kind of slide bar do you prefer?

Spock, nice! I'm using a dunlop lapdawg tonebar. It's the only one I've had. I'd like to try a ceramic one, but I like the "shaped" ones rather than the "bullet" shape which most ceramics seem to be. I have a regular ceramic slide that I use for my roundneck and love the feel/tone and would like to try it for my lap playing.
