+1. I've always enjoyed her music. She's only been around a few short years and she's already sold millions of CDs.

I like her all koa custom.
If Taylor makes a high-end version of her signature model like that, I will buy one right away. "Taylor" inlay on the finger board actually works as "Taylor Guitar" logo...

Both are beautiful to look at, but unfortunately, the sound or music emitted from either does absolutely nothing for me.

Do you mean the koa custom, or do you mean the way she plays it?

Both....
I've yet to hear a koa-topped taylor that isnt rather disappointingly 'thin' or 'muted-sounding.' They may indeed exist, but all the ones I've encountered (listened to in-person at Taylor shows or in-store demos), were pretty lifeless. Beautiful wood to gaze at, however.

Not to me bro. I've got a couple of Larrivee all koa guitars that sound wonderful. Great at fingerstyle (picks or bare fingers), strums well and projects.

Appreciate Taylor's music. Inspired my daughter to play guitar as well. She's quite a talent - Taylor and my daughter ;-).

I have heard nice-sounding all-koa guitars as well; but I believe we were discussing Taylor all-koas, not all-koa guitars in general.

I got to play Billy Dean's Koa Taylor years ago and it was a great sounding guitar.

As for Ms. Swift, the sound of her acoustic plugged in on the AMAs was further proof that the ES system is a horrible sounding magnetic pickup to my ears. Yuck.

Default Taylor Koa

Kevin,

OK. I wouldn't have expected Taylor Koas to be disappointing. Have been tempted from time time to get one (longer than 40 days and nights). ;-)

The real issue with Koa topped guitars is time. They can all be thin and almost glassy sounding when new and they take longer to open up than other woods. With patience, Koa guitars can mellow into wonderful sounding instruments!

Hi David,

You had me laughing out loud at that comment. I will not add more fuel to the anti-ES fire by adding to your comment, but I will comment that Taylor Swift is certainly inspiring my 8-year-old grand daughter to play and sing. She and I recently went through a bunch of Taylor Swift YouTube videos together and enjoyed it very much. Her music does not particularly inspire me, but it's catchy, and if it works to get young girls inspired, I am very much OK with that.
