That disallowed goal should been upheld. I tip my hat to Ottawa for shifting momentum and affirm that Anderson should have been the team MVP but there were a lot of shenanigans by the NHL itself last night.

I'm looking forward to game 7 back in the Burgh tomorrow night.

Looks like Anderson stole one last night. Ottawa scored their first powerplay in nearly 30 attempts?

Bring on game 7!
Yep, the arena in Kanata doesn't help...20 min. with no traffic, but that's not the reality on game nights. As you likely know Dru, a new arena is confirmed to be built in downtown Ottawa as part of the overall very cool redevelopment of the large, mostly vacant Lebreton Flats land, adjacent to the largest concentration of federal government buildings. As many public servants already have established parking arrangements at/near their place of work, it'll be an easy walk to the arena. Plus, the bus system is great and the upcoming new train system will be too. All this should help with consistent sold out crowds.

It's been a few months since I heard about the redevelopment and a new arena. Is that now confirmed? I saw the NJ Devils and Martin Brodeur beat Ottawa 1-0 back in Jan 1997 in that arena. Back then it was called the Corel Center. It was my first NHL game.

Yes, it is confirmed that the consortium led by Melnyk won over one other consortium to redevelop the entire Lebreton Flats. I'm not sure when construction is supposed to start. Maybe to be completed by 2020??? It's going to be a huge project covering the entire Lebreton Flats area (essentially vacant since the '50s) that will enhance, modernize and extend an already beautiful downtown.

Excellent! Hard to believe that the Corel Center / Scotiabank Place / Canadian Tire Center is going to be replaced given that it's only 20 years old. Location, location, location.

Since the first Sens owner, Bruce Firestone, also owned the land in Kanata where the existing arena is built, and also since the future Lebreton Flats location, even though vacant going back to 1992 wasn't available, if the arena wouldn't have been built on Firestone's land back then, the Sens likely wouldn't have been awarded a franchise. That said, the arena never should have been built on that prime grade A agricultural land. "They paved paradise, but up a parking lot". Like most other NHL cities, the Ottawa arena always should've been downtown. Hopefully, the crowds will respond...though personally, I still only seldom pay the exhorbitant prices, preferring to watch at home, or with friends, on my big screen TV.

I could be wrong, but I believe there are some pretty ambitious plans for the future of the current arena that should be successful, including an indoor water park maybe.

I'll mirror those sentiments from down here in Pittsburgh. This has been an exciting series and this game 7 has been quite the climax! Let's Go Pens!
