confusing fret issue
I'm having a strange fret buzzing problem - here's the deal:
1st string, 2nd fret - when I fret it somewhere near the middle of the 1-2nd fret space, its fine, rings loud and clear. But if I attempt to fret it near the 2nd fret, it gets fuzzy. I suspect it's the way the fret is crowned - any other thoughts or suggestions?

I 2nd this. Doubt it's the fret crowning. Is it definitely only on this fret?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Its hard to diagnose things via the internet.
But. I would first look to see if you had a loose fret, then if frets are good I would check that the fretboard is not worn in the middle area between the frets, if its worn you will be getting a more substantial pull down onto the fret, this may change the strings dynamic and cause buzzing. Again, hard thing to diagnose via a forum. Steve

Ned was spot on! Thanks! A close inspection revealed just a tiny bit of bounce in the fret end. A few well placed drops of super glue did the trick ( for now, anyway).

Did you push the fret back down when gluing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
