Default Local luthier and great guy Gerald Sheppard

Gerald is a great guy and builds some amazing guitars. Here he's playing Christmas music and talking guitars on a local radio show...with video.

Sheppard guitars are as good as it gets as far as a fingersryle instrument is concerned - and the GA can basically do whatever your music needs it to do.

I'll second that - a Sheppard GA is a spectacular instrument indeed! Here's my review from a while back: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=171928

Cheers,
David

Thanks for posting. I have Gerald's latest CD in my car stereo right now. I enjoy his arrangements. He is usually at Swannanoa and you can sample his latest guitars at that gathering.

Best,
Jayne

Yes, I am a Gerald Sheppard fan myself. I own a Sheppard GA Ave Maria that I bought from another AGF member a while ago. Gerald has been very helpful in giving me advice over the years on this guitar. And it IS a spectacular guitar.

Nice! And nice tone.

My finger joints don't come close to bending backwards like that. No wonder I can't play guitar.

Nice ! Great sounding guitars and great playing (with a partial capo no less !). Very nice to see and hear a builder playing their own instruments. Nothing wrong with hearing other's play them too, but hearing the maker play certainly instills a sense of confidence and certainty about the product under consideration.

Congrats Mr. Sheppard !

John

I just met him a couple of months ago. We play the same open mic about every Thursday. Honestly I didn't know how respected he was as a luthier until very recently. Really nice guy and very humble though. I'll probably see him tonight at the open mic Christmas jam.
