Thanks Daria.

I only spent a few seconds with a spruce top Olson SJ -- but based on my experience I'd say cedar has more of a compressed and complex sound whereas spruce has more breath and depth. I am expecting a spruce SJ later this year and will do comparison recordings (both guitars feature BRW back and sides).

As for strings, they don't really matter to me. Lately I got lazy and switched to Elixir nano PB lights. I also use John Pearse, Martin, DR and D'Addario. Any of them will do.

Do you perform publicly?
Thanks so much, Dru.

With or without an audience, I just love playing. I'd like to be a bit more active but most nights I'd rather practice and compose at home than play in public.

Wow! What I would give to make my guitar sing like this. I listened to the Petros first and thought it had a perfect voice but it just kept getting better and better as I listened to the other pieces. Incredible talent and skill.

Superb as always Mau, great pieces to listen to and you have such a talent for getting the most out of each note, timing and phrasing, I know it doesn't come easy (for me at least).
Alright, Good Night is my favourite of this bunch but it is a close call-I swear I could hear bagpipes in there!
Interesting to hear the Petros and Greenfield comparison.
Keep 'em coming, all the best.

Very nice Mau. I love the sound of the Olson on La Traversee. All four songs are done very well and deserve equal praise. I really like the trills and outro runs in "All Right Goodnight"

I need to record "definitive" versions of my originals -- off camera...

Of course you will both get free copies of my upcoming album...

Thanks so much. The Petros has really rich and clear basses for its size. I practice every day -- and hopefully I still have some time to improve...

Thanks so much for listening. I think it's the tuning that evokes those bagpipe-like sounds...

The Petros and Greenfield couldn't be more different. I had fun comparing these two.

Thanks, Ed!

I think "La traversée" is the piece that is most representative of my work.

I often like to dabble in other styles but I need to work on those ornaments a little more...

Thanks, Phil. I hadn't written anything in a long while -- but I think this fall will be more creative/productive...

I so appreciate you sharing these with us. Gorgeous playing, beautiful compositions and your skill and musicianship really bring out the best in these stellar guitars. I think my favorite is the same as yours - "Les premiers pas."

Best,
Jayne
