Default Playing the Vox at work

I'm sitting here at work playing the strat and the Vox AC10 amp. My gosh, that amp sounds so fantastic.....I'm thinking of getting rid of my others. Maybe that's too much.... but that Vox has such a great tone. Just like a bell. What a bargain.

Great little amps! I've had one for a year and a half. I upgraded the tubes and that made it even better. Still have the same speaker but may experiment with the Greenback 10 or Eminence. Limited space on the cab really limit what you can use.

It's just a smidge small for club use without mic'ing. If Vox had this same amp in a 20W model with a 12" speaker I don't think they could make them fast enough.

they do, it is the ac15c1. yes, it is 15 watts, but it is quite a loud amp. i have one and the tremolo and reverb are great as well as the two channels that i pair up with an aby pedal.

play music!

I've got a 50W Carvin V3M head going into a 1x12 cab with an Eminence Governor speaker at work. I have fantasies of turning it to 10 and blowing out the windows after an argument with my boss.

BTW, how do the GF Surf 90's sound through those amps - I've got an old 3-PU Carlo Robelli hollowbody and I'm thinking of doing the swap...

Funny you should mention an A/B/Y switch, Steve - I am currently on the hunt for one !! It'll be interesting to hear these two amps in tandem.

Good eye on the Surf 90's, by the way.. I love 'em! They sound fantastic through both amps. Best move I've made in years putting those Surf 90's into that G5120.. Those stock Gretschbuckers were muddy as all get out...

I'd say go for the Surf 90's in your Carlo Robelli - you won't regret it.

Thanks, harp - Yeah, I love both amps. Totally different tones, but both great amps.
