Default 3 piece X-brace

Pretty sure I saw something on this a while ago. Instead of notch mating the 2 braces, just cut one and butt up against the whole brace; cap off. Just wondering what any thoughts (pro/con) are about this. Easy enough to make the standard joint, just wondering; getting ready on another Harmony re-build.

Thanks

Cheers !

A big mistake that was for years the method of an outfit named Gibson.

Yeah, I'm a little skeptical. Thought I saw some newfangled post somewhere on it but it couldn't hurt to ask. So many blogs, so little time. For an extra 10-20 minutes I'll just stick with the old school; it's always worked.
