Default Wood and Paua

Not that I'm very artsy...

I finished playing, put the guitar on the stand, then laid on the floor checking my phone.

I looked up at the guitar and it just looked cool to me the see the different woods (cocobolo/ebony/Sitka) in the sunlight, separated by the paua trim.

Anyone have artsy pictures of their guitar to share?

One day, Marco. One day. For now, I'm stuck with just wood and plastic inlays..not that it's a bad thing.

Love the paua bling. To me paua just looks way better than abalone. Never seen a paua inlay that wasn't dazzling, whatever angle you looked at it.

Then you've got the armrest and cocobolo on that beauty too. Wow!

I'm in! A little bit of New Zealand and Australia for you....

Kauri over Tasmanian blackwood, with red morrel burl and old man wodjil trims and fine lines of NZ paua. The inlay is the flower of another Tasmanian tree, the leatherwood.

PS, the builder took the photo, not me!

Thanks folks. I appreciate the beauty of the instrument from the eye perspective, in addition the sound qualities.

It was another photo of that incredible cocobolo that I was hankering for. Didn't even think to click on your sig, but I have now.

Wow! that gives me CAS (cocobolo acquisition syndrome )

I had the worst case of 'CAS' after playing a cocobolo GS at a road show...I HAD to have one. HERE's another picture for you.

Beautiful Gibson dodge!

Anyone else have artistic photos of their guitar they's like to share? Maybe a rippling soundboard with a lot of silking? Or a contrasting purfling?

Ok, I'm back with another!

African blackwood back and sides, spruce top. Binding is jarrah (another Aussie wood) with satinwood lines. There is a tiny MOP line on the rosette but otherwise it's a shell-free baby.
