Thanks for sharing your experience!
While I have never written any of my own music... I thoroughly love learning and playing music that others have written. Maybe I should try to write something, before my last song is played on that Guild 12 string or the Taylor GS. With my wife being on kidney dialysis for 3 days a week, and my younger brother enduring a brain tumor and lung cancer, I find myself more aware of how uncertain life is.... Thanks for the reminder!

Well, I can't exactly relate any specific stories. I can say though that I primarily play and record for myself as a hobby. I share with friends and family, mostly on FB, but it's mostly for ME. I am well aware that my musical abilities, either as a writer, singer, or musician will never be great, but it's such a fun experiment and hobby. I am learning how music recording and production works, and it's just a blast to learn from my mistakes.
My best received song was the one I wrote for my mom a year after she died. Emotional songs tend to carry such weight!

My snark? I'm mostly a class clown. I do not play well with curmudgeons, snobs, or authoritarians. You can blame parochial schools and an nearly 20 years at an academic hospital for that!

Nah, just the tone of some posts have been rather contrary. Wasn't thinking of any one individual. I joke around quite a bit and sometimes my humor is misinterpreted. I may be guilty of the same! Scott |

I enjoy these stories as well. Music surely does connect us together.
@patchmcg your song was very moving! Thanks for sharing.
