A lot of folks never realize their high blood pressure, back pain, knee pain, blood sugar issues, etc. are connected to weight. Good on you!

That’s great Barry. Good focus on you’re part. I weighed 225 10 years ago (no problem with BP)when a good friend was diagnosed with diabetes. A small group of overweight friends had a friendly contest to see what we could lose to support our friend who had to lose weight. We brought a scale into work and recorded our weight each week. I lost 45 pounds and never put it back on. I used the South Beach Diet and I found it worked well for me.

Keep up the good work and best of luck.

Right behind ya, Barry! I went to the doctor for my yearly checkup and I was heavier than ever! He said my blood pressure was fine but my Glucose (blood sugar) levels were through the roof. He said I was one step away from being a Diabetic, or Hypoglycemic!
He told me to back off carbs, sodas and lose weight, also eat better balanced meals. This was the first week of January, I was at 232lb. At 6'1, this was way too heavy for me. Although I hid it well. Replaced snacks with unsalted nuts and eating more veggies. Less fatty foods too. In two weeks I lost 7 LBs. Went back to the Doc two weeks later and Glucose was under control. Not ever going back. Sleeping better now and have more energy too! Current weight is floating around 215lb. Hope to get lower weight but if I don't get there, no biggie.

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure when I was 17. Active daily at the gym weighed 150 lb .but one day I had a massive nosebleed were Lost so much blood I had to be carried to the car to go to the hospital . I believe the highest it’s been was 153/103 . Now 10 years later at 175lbs with the help of meds it’s pretty regular but I still need to avoid high caffeinated and salty foods . Today it is good

Congratulations. You should also track your heart rate as the third number in heart health.

Excellent! If you've ever had gout, your likelihood of having another attack will go down with having lower weight as well.

I think you should celebrate with a nice carbon guitar Barry, one less thing to stress over it ever going out of shape.
