Yes, GHS are my go to strings for most of my guitars. Pearse are my close second. I would probably use Santa Cruz strings if I did not have an allergic reaction to them. Both the SC and the SUS have some metal alloy that my skin reacts negatively too. Grateful for so many good string choices out there.

Best,
Jayne

I was just about to post exactly the same until I read this post which made it unnecessary for me to post this.

#1 MARTIN M540 .12 TO .54 PB's

#2 Dunlop PB's 12-54

#3 John Pearse 600L PB's 12-54

* I buy bulk because I change them every 3 to 4 shows and the Martin M540's are the cheapest of the 3 brands I like best... the Dunlop's are a bit warmer tho and are a little higher quality of the 3 imo, but they all sound great and satisfy me consistently on all my guitars.

Happy using Martin SP's. (But first to admit that I haven't experimented a whole lot with other brands/strings).

John Pearse for me, my guitars sound noticeably better with them than D'Addarios.

Poll FAIL since it leaves off Martin and John Pearse

I would expect Martin to have the largest market share after D'Addaro.

These days I have pretty much settled on D'Addaro though. Martin's are not as noisy, but I have been disappointed by receiving tarnished/dead strings out of the package from Martin.

John Pearse are popular on the forum (Wade's fault probably) but I could never hear a real difference between them and Martins.

D'Addario is my go to choice for all around use..
EJ16 sound great ..are low cost and easy to find.

But exclusively using John Pearse 600L on my J-45.

I swapped most of mine that had Martin's to Elixir Nanowebs. Except for my Martin. I'm not ready to mess with that yet. And I am thinking something a lilttle more specialized might be an order. I can say that I've had great results and love the Nanos on everything I have them on but my Breedlove Pursuit 12, which came with D'Alldarrios. I swapped them to the nanowebs after I did it on my Seagull SM12. They sound great on the Seagull. They sound awful on the Breedlove. Back to factory spec D'Alldarrios for the Breedlove. I'm selling it.
