Default Thoughts on Epiphone 339

I'm considering the purchase of an electric... probably used. Epiphone 339. Anyone own one? Comments? My other choice would be a Sheraton II.
Thanks, all.

I have an ES-355 and I absolutely love it. I have played a few 339s and they are great.

I got one a few weeks ago. I absolutely love it. My first electric was a small body semi-hollow Silvertone from Sears and Roebuck around 1970. Dozens and dozens of electrics later I've come home. I like my Epi better than several Gibson LPs, Strats, Teles, I've had. Better than the Sheraton I had. Mine is Cherry. I took the guard off and I think it looks 100% better. With the arch top I'll never hit the top with a pick. The only other change I made was to swap the knobs for black translucent speed knobs. A word of warning though, if you swap knobs, be very careful taking them off the volume pots. I actually pulled the shaft right out of one of them. Put it in the shop and now it's good as new. The tech played around with the pickup heights while he had it and I can honestly say it sounds better than any of the LPs I've had.

I have an Epi 339 Pro and I really like it. It does everything I need from an electric guitar.

Personally I'd go for the Sheraton but I'd be happy to play either. The Sheraton may possibly have an edge in terms of quality plus the 335 is just such a beautiful guitar.
