Because envying and hating on others is easier than forcing yourself to change and work harder.

Same reason we just experienced the nonsense in Charlottesville...human beings are defective creatures.

I refuse to let any of this turn me into a nihilist, but this is a sign of the times- plain and simple.

Frankly, nihilism has no answers anyway so you've made a good choice.

"why?"

Because we are not willing to stop it.

And if we WERE willing, what could "we" do? I do not think our willingness has anything to do with how some people have a fanaticism and certainty that viciousness is a legitimate path.

Let us wave a magic wand and say, for example, that it would be possible to kill every single ISIS member in Iraq and Syria. Every single one. It would not change one iota the safety of innocents in places like Barcelona. ISIS-like hatred and ideology is out there on the internet, forever.

Are we "willing" to stop that?

Me neither. And my Child is an honor student and everything!

And for the record I did say most.

Condolences to everyone directly and adversely affected in Charlottesville and Barcelona, and also to the fate of this thread.

We can't confront evil by avoiding it.

Condolences to those caught up in these tragedies.

Whatever the 'answer' is. It's unlikely to be found on a guitar forum.

Why? Because we are what we are. Man has been killing man since the proverbial Cain and Able.

There is nothing new under the sun. We cannot "fix" this.

My condolences to all those who lost loved ones because of senseless hate.

Blessed be.

The only way to avoid attack is to surrender our freedom. Not a choice.
