Why would you say that before you know there longevity? If they last a year than it might cost the same as regular strings. I had some rorbacher titaniums that last a year and a half with no tone loss. Sadly he fell ill and no longer makes them.

I kind of like the ritual of changing strings and trying different string brands. Gives you an opportunity to clean your guitar thoroughly too. Definitely not going to pay $40 for a set of strings.

Anyone tried them out? Sure if they last 5x longer they may be worth a shot but wow, almost 3x the price of other "longer lasting" strings seems insane... Hope they are as great as their price....but will wait on others to experiment before dropping $40 on strings...

Kidding aside, the feedback so far has been extremely positive, and they should definitely last longer than any other strings currently available. |

Being a "string junkie" with about 15 sets still in my inventory I doubt it I will try them very soon. However, the concept sure sounds great. I will follow everyone's reports as time goes by.

FYI, been plenty of six string sets over $50. Don't have to buy any of them but it's hardly a benchmark.

There have been several recent threads on this topic, including comments from AGF folks who beta tested them. As Ted noted, virtually all the reviews have been positive.
Here's a vid Martin posted today:

If the longevity, with no loss of tone, is accurate, the cost could be justified. My concern would be how they sound on my guitar. I'm not certain that I want to spent $40 to find that out.

Several members herein that have been posting updates on their Beta testing for Martin. So far I haven't read anything but glowing reviews on quality and longevity. Just search on titanium and you should find several reports if you want to read some.

Chances of me paying $40 for a set of strings or $40 or more for a pick are less than zero. I learned with Black Diamond Strings and the picks the music store gave out for free. I use D'Addario strings now and I spend a little more for the Primetone picks.
I'm sure spending more for strings and picks won't improve my playing anyway. |

Im concerned with playability and tone. I dont want to spend 40 to just try them out like I have with other strings. I might spend $20, I dont know.

I'm thinking I will put a set on my D15.
Wondering how they might do on an electric.
