I was actually looking at those now too.

The SE version is out but in a comparison the tone of the core model is on another level.

Aren't the strings an issue here?
Bronzish strings don't work with mag picups for electric sounds and electric strings never sound acoustic.....?
Also, weirdly, what about the look and feel. When I pick up an electric guitar I don't play in the same way as I do if I'm cradling an acoustic.
How could these things be overcome in one guitar?
Nick

Yes, I had to learn to play much "lighter" when I got my Acoustasonic.
So used to heavy strumming and palm muting and thumping my acoustic.

Yes definitely strings are an issue. But with my Yamaha AEX500 piezo/humbucker hybrid, I use 11-50 nickel strings with a wound G string. I think the wound G is key to getting closer to an acoustic sound. With an EQ pedal you can get a decent "acoustic" tone.

Martin just came out with the SC-13E. It is an easy to play acoustic-electric.

Well it’s rather old but I use a Ibanez lonestar LE420 that I like a lot.
It may not have the best acoustic sound but it plays nice and easy.

Works good with pedals too.
