KENNEDY OM EIR/Sitka sunburst MINT $OLD
Perfect Kennedy OM. Mint, as new condition. Completed 5/27/14. Sunburst finish with blue paua rosette. Plays beautifully, great setup. Has never left the house except for the builder picking it up and taking it to the shop for the one year tuneup. 1 3/4 nut, 2 1/4 saddle, 25.5 inch scale. The double sides add strength, power and sustain. Rosewood board, Brazilian bridge. Bone nut and saddle, Waverly tuners. Beautiful sunburst, which cannot be captured accurately with a digital camera. Still smells new. I'll miss this one. $OLD Conus only and no trades, please.

Thanks, oddmanout. The first two photos were taken by the luthier, inside the shop and out. The one of the back shows the shamrock on the heelcap. Terry Kennedy studied with Charles Fox, and to obtain one of these with a burst would be a wait of probably two years.

Soundclips added. You might be hearing some of the compressor on the $100 device, but the goal is to give you a general idea.

These don't come up for sale very often, especially with a sunburst finish. In fact, this may be the only Kennedy OM burst.

The workmanship on this guitar is impeccable, probably because the builder is a retired orthopedic surgeon. So the nut and saddle are, of course, bone.
It's funnier when he tells it. |

Photo added- a shot of the builder's notes, listing dimensions and the woods used- specifically the four pieces of Brazilian Rosewood. They are: headstock veneer, heelcap, end graft and the bridge.

Now with free shipping. Kennedy guitars are available only through The Podium, a landmark high end shop. And of course, here.

Cool-looking guitar! Love the sunburst and the blue paua rosette. I see from the spec sheet that this guitar also has a Brazilian Rosewood headstock veneer, heel cap, and end graft. Plus, it was built by the hands of an Orthopaedic Surgeon - - so you know the bone nut was shaped perfectly. (couldn't resist)
Good luck with the sale! Last edited by Martz911; 08-27-2016 at 08:32 PM. |
