Default SOLD 2010 Kevin Kopp K-35 French Polish SOLD

SOLD 2010 Kevin Kopp K-35 with Red Spruce and French Polish upgrade for SOLD The French Polish is a $350 upgrade. The sunburst is the most beautiful I have seen on any guitars. Like someone said to describe it as "Organic" Its a hand rubbed sunburst that is stunning!
As for the condition of this Kopp K-35, it is in great shape! Rob (rcalcutta) here can vouch for it. (See Below where rcalcutta posted about this guitar and me as a seller.)

From Kevin Kopp's site describing this guitar Kevin says “I like the expression “dry, explosive and woody” because that how players have articulated how they feel about the K-35”. It’s their way of expressing to me that they are getting a “Vintage” and useable type tone from the guitar.“People have told me they love the fact that the K-35 does so many things so well, that they can cover a lot of ground with one guitar”!

I have been considering doing this for a while and just think its time. All I own is Slope Shoulders and one has to go. The rest are Vintage Gibsons and a Fairbanks RS. It is a great guitar and I will try to post a sound clip from it later on. I have plenty of references here on the forum and can provide those for you. Here is one email I got from a forum member that I sold a guitar to.

"Curt,
You are amazing! Thanks so much for all of your care. I've probably done between 50 and 100 transactions with guitars on the internet and you are at the top in being responsible, thoughtful and just getting the whole thing! I can't thank you enough. "

I offered this guitar up for trade last year, but I bought a Fairbanks F-20 to take care of that need. I do not need anymore guitars at this time, so no trades please. Only in USA please. I live in NC just outside of Charlotte, NC. Thanks and shoot me an email with your questions.

Email is yahoo and it is curtcollins33 before the @yahoo dot com

Man, I wish you were interested in a partial trade! You have just what I'm looking for!
I have a 2014 Bourgeois Aged Tone OM beautiful minty guitar listed here under looking for a home. Amazing tone on this guitar, easy to play, very responsive. However, I have an elbow injury and looking for a short scale.
Cheers!

Default Deal in confidence

I have dealt with the OP and bought a beautiful Santa Cruz from him a while back. He is a gentleman and you can deal with him in total confidence. You can trust him completely.

I discovered Kevin Kopp's guitars recently; am new to the Gibson style acoustics. Do you happen to know what method Kevin uses to attach the necks to the bodies (compound dovetail, bolts, other)? I found lots of nice sound clips and reviews and am interested, but still doing some research on his construction method. Thanks for any insight you can provide!

I can most certainly vouch for this guitar and this seller.

The guitar is great all the way around -build quality, playability and sound. One of the best burst finishes I have seen.

And Curt is an awesome guy. Straightforward and honest as the day is long.

You cannot go wrong here.

Great guitar! Could you, please, post the specs, or do all K-35's have the same specs? Primarily scale and nut width. Thanks

Alex,

I am not positive, but I would assume he uses dovetail just like the vintage Gibson's he is trying to re-create. I am not completely sure on this, but can't find anything on it anywhere. Maybe someone else can speak up if they know. It is a great guitar.

Rob,

Thank you very much for that very nice endorsement. How have you been? Which guitar are you excited about these days? Anything new?

Arktrav,

1 3/4 nut, 24.75 Scale Length. I guess that is considered short scale. These are pretty much typical of all K-35s unless a custom order. I think he based it around the Gibson J-35 of the late 30's. Almost all K-35s you find out there will be Red Spruce tops. I remember the prototype was made with Sitka but everyone after that was red spruce.

Here is the page for the K-35

I really just need to sell it straight up. I am selling it because I just don't play my guitars as much as I used to and guitars deserve to be played.

So I answered my own question. The Facebook page for Kopp guitars has numerous pictures of unassembled guitars that all appear to have compound dovetail joints. Looking at the numerous pictures is a treat - nearly everything looks to be done by hand, using basic tools and homemade jigs. Very cool!

I forgot to look at facebook page. Look at all those beautiful sunbursts! Kopp is the best at that IMO.
