312 – CE neck
I posted a bunch of pictures, including the neck, on the link at reverb. I noticed that a lot of reverb pictures on my iPad look weak, and I'm not happy with mine either!
I'm new to all this stuff on the computer/iPad, so I'm fumbling my way forward. I believe I can email you pictures if you would like, And I will be glad to do so. Or try at least. If you're concerned with appearance, as you will see in the photos, the neck is not perfect, but it does not look bad. If you are concerned with the feel, it feels GREAT in your hand. If you consider the difference between a gloss finish neck and a satin finish, on how easy it is to move your hand, to me it is now even easier to move around than the satin finish. You will feel the tiniest amount of grain, because the grain was not filled, and because there's no finish. But she has been well, well sanded with 1000 grit sandpaper, and then super fine steel wool, while carefully protecting the pick ups. And finally, oiled, with my secret Mojo sauce, ha ha. Well, not quite. Plus, of course, you get the sonic and drop tune advantages of the long scale without having to work so hard. This is especially nice with old or small hands. If you have really big or long hands and fingers you may want a bigger neck! Please let me know if you if you can find the pictures or not, and whether you want more. And happy picking… By the way, this is one of those rare guitars that can be tuned down to C# without flopping about very much! You can't play it quite as hard in C# but it sounds great through PA, or full range speaker. it kicks butt in D, or open D tuning.... Great guitar for slide, but set up to play low for finger style. Yes, I am in the mountains about 50 miles east of San Diego. But the guitar is at my friends music store in Lemon Grove, which is just south of hwy 94, close to college grove. Pretty central location.
