SOLD: 1998 Martin Vintage Series D-18VS
SOLD.
1998 Vintage Series Martin D-18VS. These are no longer made and are getting a little harder to come by. I am the second owner; I purchased it in 2014. This has the awesome, open tone and easy playability characteristic of all D-18VS guitars. I strum, flatpick, and play fingerstyle, and it transitions seamlessly from one to the other. It is an outstanding guitar in every way, and in excellent shape, especially considering its age. So why am I selling? I’m getting married and buying a house. Sitka spruce top, mahogany back, sides and neck, ebony fretboard and bridge, 12 frets to the body, squared slotted headstock, open-backed Waverly tuners with Butterbean knobs, 1-3/4” nut width. The action is medium-low (see pictures). It is in excellent condition. There is no buckle rash, and almost no fret wear. There are two small dings on the top, upper bout and some very minor scuffing on the top, lower bout and back (see pictures; most was impossible to photograph). There is some slight finish bubbling on the back of the headstock. Original hard shell case is also in excellent shape, having only some minor scuffing. All marks were made by the previous owner. Includes a Seiko St-909 chromatic tuner which came with the guitar. I’m asking SOLD. ] Slight bubbling on back of headstock: Ding on top: Ding on upper bout: Some scuffing below the pickguard; it doesn’t show up in photographs: Same area, different angle; the minor scuffing is below the back end of the pickguard: Ding on back, lower bout towards the rear:

Some slight discoloration inside the case; it also has some minor scuffing on the tolex. “Two quarters under the bass E-string at the 12th fret” mode of showing action; the string is pushed up by the second quarter: One quarter under the string; the gap between the quarter and bass E-string us clearly visible: Blurry picture, but there is very little fret wear: This tuner arrived unannounced with the guitar; works fine and is included: It looks as pretty as it sounds:

What's the neck profile? I'm no good at telling from the pictures, unless it's an HD-28V with the V sticking out. Those I can tell...
