Jayne, Marty, Ernesto ....thank you so much! I don't get to do "NGD" very often and less into the future, I believe, so this event is special.
Ernesto, congrats on your upcoming build. Yes, from hearing from Bud the seller, who is good friends with Jeff, and my own investigation, this wood combo is at least one of Jeff's favorites and he's built a number of them.
That said, I'm quite sure your own build will be stellar. To me, the FSC model is both beautiful and functional. SO comfortable to play! Good luck with your upcoming build!! Jeff has been super responsive (including today!) with my questions on the guitar. For example, the fine red lines on my FSC are dyed pear wood......didn't know that!
Regards and thanks again,
Fred

From a fellow Bamburg owner, congratulations. Jeff makes a very fine guitar. Mine is a double top baritone that I bought in 2009.

Jim, thank you! And, there it is again.....that Carpathian/Macassar combo Jeff seems to like a whole lot. I looked over your guitar at Dream as I researched Jeff's guitars.....very very beautiful.
Listened to some of your Soundcloud....you have a very lovely "Tom Rush" voice going there.....at least that's what I hear!
Thanks again,
Fred

Thank you, Fred! Yes, I am absolutely looking forward to that build. I have spoken to Jeff several times, and he is very friendly and absolutely great to work with. I was close to ordering a Carpathian-Macassar Ebony myself, but then got caught by the Cedar-EIR combo. Jeff seems to do magic with this combo as well, just listen to this beauty:

By the way, I will go with the red purfling lines as well, will put some photos later this year.
All the best!

Thanks Ernesto! YES! Loved that video of Jeff's work! Very cool that you'll work those red purfling lines into your build. They are SO delicate and yet fully augment the wood elements around them with a graceful aesthetic and balance.
Looking forward to seeing all your photos later this year!
Fred

It does seem to be a favorite of his. I was quite taken with the combo the first time I heard it.

Jeff does fine work. And as you've said, he's great to work with. I had a lot of fun working in the dog details on that guitar. I found Jeff via Dream Guitars and contacted him directly. The sale wound up going through DG because Jeff figured that was fair since I found him through their site.

Mau, thanks so very much! Very pleased and excited to have this beauty in my little flock. I tried to defer on it for about two weeks......couldn't shake it!!
Happy it worked out.
Thanks again, hope you're doing well.
Fred

Congrats! What a beauty!

Is the red purfling made of padauk or purple heart?

Hi and thanks! I asked Jeff about that yesterday as it's really special in how he uses it. It's pear wood, dyed red! As Jeff says, "I like a little color without overdoing it"!
Regards,
Fred
