Thanks for the nice comments, all. She has been inspired by that X7 to learn more Hawaiian slack-key tunes, and has been working on them since it arrived -- more so than I've seen in a while. Of course, her retirement gives her more free time and energy to pursue things like music.

I joked with a friend this week -- Alice got some serious jewelry for her retirement / early birthday: a good-sized Emerald!

Emeralds should be Illegal. They are the sexiest guitars in existence. As a punishment to Emerald Guitar they should have to give each of us one FREE

I don't think one would be enough. Emerald could turn itself into a charitable organization with go-fund support and maybe we could go for two free lunches, I mean guitars.
