Surprisingly, more votes go to Red Cedar than German Spruce.

I vote cedar for the warmish darkness that I desire, but my next classical will probably be German spruce to brighten things up and see where else I can go. IF I ever manage to get another classical. Heck, since we're dreaming now, I'd probably go visit Bruce Sexauer and see what he recommends and have him build me something unorthodox and unbelievable.

For me, the warmth and response of the cedar is my preference. I have a very light touch and play a variety of genres on the classical. True classical and jazz stand out on cedar, but most everything else including rock, folk, and Celtic seem more pleasing to me. I have an excellent spruce topped classical, now in the hands of my very capable grandson, but cedar is where I find the best way to express myself.
