Default Quick Question about the Martin Acoustic Pick Up

Hello All,

Thanks for the great recommendations for the VOX headphone capable plug in. I plugged it in my Acoustic Electric and nothing. So I inserted the 9 Volt Battery into my Guitar and, well hey, it all works together and sounds amazing!

Guitar is a Martin GPC-15ME Streetmaster. It has its own electronics, one of the GPC’s cool features is the Fishman Matrix VT Enhance electronics system, which combines a Matrix under-saddle piezo pickup with a bridge-plate-mounted transducer.

I did some research, googled and youtubed... but no joy...

My Stupid and Quick question: Does this have an on / off switch?

My 9 volt battery died pretty quickly. That's all. The battery came with the new guitar and it is 3 months old. If not (because I can not find one)...

== Does it only activate the pick up when I plug my VOX into it?
== Should I take the battery out of the guitar when not using the VOX?

Thanks in advance.

My guess is that the output jack is a switching jack - if you leave something plugged into the guitar it will drain the battery. Solution? Don't leave anything plugged into the guitar when not in use.

When u say, does THIS have on/off switch , are u referring to the guitar? If so, the on/off is the jack. In other words, if there is something plugged into the guitar it is on. When u remove what is plugged into the guitar ie Vox, cable, it is off.
So u are correct, the pickup is activated/on when it has something plugged into it. No need to remove battery from guitar.

Hope this helps.

Default Thanks to you both, I found the User Manual online....This is what it said:

Plug In • Connect the Matrix Infinity to your amplifier or PA with a ¼-inch
instrument cable. (Ok, did that)

To conserve battery life, remove the instrument cable from the guitar when the system is not in use. (Ok, did NOT do that)

OK, maybe me, I am the spasdick here, but it should have been more apparent. When I left it plugged in, but not turned on, it was around 5 days. So that kind of explains it all.

Thanks again!

Kevin

Kevin, you are not the only one who left the cable plugged. I can tell you there are at least two in this world. And I'm pretty sure a few millions more!
