Default Any Taylor 324CE players out there?

I am drawn to this particular model and have bounced back and forth a few times between the 324CE and a 000-15M or 000-18. Recently I was leaning toward one of the 000’s (which I love), but after playing a 324CE again today, I’m leaning back toward the 324CE. Already having a wonderful OM-28V, I think the Taylor makes an excellent compliment to my Martin. I like both Martins and Taylors.

So, I’m curious to hear from those who have the 324, to learn your thoughts on the guitar. I know that the body size is just slightly larger than the 000, but not by much. I do note a significant bass response and full-bodied sound from the 324. And the tone is well-balanced. I like it!

I like my 324. Its considerably less loud than my DN8. That's really my only quirk with it. A great compliment to any spruce top though.

I own and play a 324. I have recently been considering a 000-18 instead, but every time I play my 324, I'm reminded of why I bought it, and I KNOW that as nice as a 000-18 is, it won't satisfy me any more than my 324. The Taylor 324 is just a great guitar that looks fantastic and sounds amazing.

Had a 324ce SEB for about a year and would still own it but for abruptly needing to move one in order to acquire another (I'm sure no one on this forum could relate...!) While owning it, I very much enjoyed its crisp, woody tone and, of course, its superb playability. Several months after selling it, I found myself missing that satin Shaded Edge Burst finish, and scratched that itch by buying a 326 baritone. If you're mulling one over, OP, go for it. Nice instrument.

I owned a 324 (hog/sapele) for a year and I loved it.

I would have kept it were it not for the pain I got in my 60 year old shoulders whenever I played it. It was just too big for me. :/

000 or smaller, 12 frets even better - that's all I can play comfortably these days.

I'd still love to own a 322 12 fretter in hog/blackwood

I've been playing a Hog/Blackwood 324 almost every day for the past nine months. They are terrific guitars. Very versatile.

I had been playing my Webber OM for 15 years for fingerstyle but also wanted something I could strum.

First I tried a top of the line Adi/EIR Recording King. Great guitar but too loud for my playing space and just too big.

Second I tried a Taylor Big Baby. Loved it (may eventually get another) but nearing retirement I decided I wanted a "finer" guitar and one with a 1 3/4 nut.

Third I tried a Larrivee SD-40. Adored it. I thought the slope and narrower body (than a square dread) would suit me, and it did. It also had a 1 3/4 nut. Unfortunately it was still too loud (not as loud as the RK) and made my ears ring (tinnitus). I was heartbroken but had to let it go.

Finally I decided to try the a Taylor GA size. The are advertised as being a versatile, all around guitars. They are exactly that.

After a lot of research I decided on the 324 Hog/Blackwood. I can't put it down. They are not engineered to be as loud or sound like a dreadnought. They are not engineered to sound like a GC, OM, or 000. They are in-between. Perfect for what I wanted/needed.

I love the strummed tone. Can't get enough of it. And while not the super responsive, dynamic fingerpicker with complex overtones that my Webber is, it still fingerpicks very well and can be hit with a pretty hard attack that my Webber can't handle as well. The hog top has a lot to do with these features.

So that's my take on this instrument. I personally like the GA size so much I may get another, perhaps Cedar/Hog or Cedar/Maple.

Happy hunting.

I also love the Taylor 324 Hog/Blackwood version.

I bought mine new in Dec of 2016. Blackwood by Taylor's own admission is one of the loudest tonewoods you can get and that paired with the Mahogany is insanely warm and woody.

I got to demo Taylors at a "Find your fit" even and sampled everything from the 324, to the all Hog 500 series, the new 600 series, 800 series and then a special Sinker BTO. I couldn't shake the sound of the 324 it was so warm and unique compared to the rest of the Taylor line.

Go for the 324 you won't regret it.

Ironically enough, I did a blind test with my wife and she thought my 324 was my Martin OMJM. The 324 is just a different, but insanely wonderful Taylor.

As you can see from my signature line I have both. Get the 324! A great compliment to your Martin. I absolutely love mine.

I’ve got a 326ce, same tonewoods, slightly larger surface area on top. I find it very similar to the 24, only a bit more bass. Love the guitar

Ya'll are just a bunch of enablers! . And I asked for it, didn't I!

I'm edging closer to pulling the trigger on this. It is an eventuality, I'm sure.

Thanks for all the comments!
