Default So I passed on a XXXV Baritone - Rumor has it Taylor is making another...

I hear Taylor will be producing a new Baritone that isn't a limited anniversary. Any news on this? I saw it posted on another forum...Not much detail just semi-solid rumors.

I've heard from my dealer that it's becoming a regular model, no burst though.

Yeah - that's why I passed on the anniversary edition.

I was really close but decided that it was best to wait for the regular model. Any more details?

I too have heard from my dealer that it'll be a regular model. My reaction was "darn, I could have saved some money" but the burst is pretty and they only made 35, and it'll be nice.

So you purchased one? Has it arrived yet ? Have you played it yet?

They are interesting guitars, I played one a few weeks back. I don't like the burst, so I'm glad they are making it without it. I want to buy a bari, but I just don't know if I will play it enough...although if you want to build finger/hand strength get the bari!!!

As tempted as I am by both the 12 fret and the parlor, I'll wait for a standard production model.

After just receiving a BTO GC, my wallet is a tad on the light side... A bit too light to lay down another 5K right now.

That's good news for me. Wit the limited run of the 35ths I'm not sure they would be easy to come by when I'm ready to get a new guitar. And quality baris are hard to come by for a decent price. I'm sure the wood combos will be a big topic as I imagine certain woods would simply flop with the lower notes. It'll be interesting to see what Taylor does with it.

I'm also looking forward to a burst-less finish, as I don't care much for them.

Bel isi,
-kyle

How was the sound? Good tone? Boomy?

I also am not a very big fan of the burst look.

I have reserved one from my dealer. It was his only one I believe. It hasn't come in yet, and thus I haven't played it. I'll take pics when it arrives.

I liked the sound, but it wasn't as boomy as I would have thought. I don't have a way to compare it to other baritones, though, so it's tough.

No, Guitar Rodeo.

Just got off the phone with Jim... the normal production model will be offered in six-string and eight-string baritone!
