Pedal Choices
I don't have or have used a lot of pedals like some. I researched distortion pedals for months and came across a post on the Seymour Duncan 805, which I thought was great, so I bought one. It's a Tube Screamer type pedal with an added twist. A three band EQ which has a great range and you can go from a bright Fender twang attack to Mesa Grunge Chunk. It would be my #1. The #2 is the hard one, although reverb, modulation, and delays are cool they are nothing without the right sound and my twin has reverb and tremolo. My #2 would be my MXR Micro Amp or my Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster. With one click and a gain knob you can send a twin into a tizzy with these little monsters without having loads of buttons to mess with. Plus they are both cheap and great quality. They also work great for bumping up a signal for lead over a loop track.

Reverb, if the amp doesn't have it, and compressor, specifically the Boss LMB-3.

One pedal, that's as tough as coming up with one guitar. For me it would be Strymon, depending on your flavor. My board has a Timeline, Big Sky and a Riverside. Along with a compressor a DI and a Strymon power box, I'm almost beyond pedal gas. Ok, maybe a nice little chorus just for those times... ;-)

Electro Harmonix Soul Food. It's on my board now and I bought it the first time I played it. Ask me something in 6 months and it may be a different pedal I'll choose.

1st...pultec parametric eq with germanium drive...it adds the glue, air and articulation.
2nd...EHX Lpb 2ube with rca 12au7 tubes...the nice thing is you can put a pedal between the tubes to tubafi it. with the pultec inbetween the 2 tubes ... a tube pultec use it with a couple of old 50's se6L6 or a 1949 pp6v6 monoblock amps |

1.A Klon clone called Tumnus made by Wampler. Transparent like the original.
2.Some kind of delay or slapback- I use a Flashback due to its versatility. |

I gig with a very similar setup sometimes: a Mojo Hand FX Sacred Cow (Klon Clone) and a Way Huge Aqua Puss (Delay).

Boss DD3. I've been using this since high school. I just think it sounds good.
Two pedals... I'd use a good overdrive such as the Xotic BB Preamp and a Looper such as the Digitech looper with an SD card that you can pre-program with a bunch of your loops or backing tracks. JR
