Default Alvarez solid cedar top model 5038 acoustic guitar

Good morning forum folk....
I'm looking at this guitar, Alvarez solid cedar top model 5038 acoustic guitar, in a pawn shop, didn't take a pic dangit. Solid cedar top, lam back and sides doesn't look rosewood or mahogany..
Does anyone know about the 5038?
Thanks for any information,

I would email Tom at Alvarezguitars.com contact list. I've always used him to ferret out info on the older Alvarezes and he always gets back to me very promptly, never more than the next day and often in an hour or so.

That model I don't know too much about but I think Alvarez had the same model number for a couple of guitars. Most had spruce tops and I think mahogany back and sides. An earlier version, I understand, had a cedar top and ovangol back and sides.

However, many of these older Alvarez guitars were all laminates.

Yes, contact Tom.

Also with these older Alvarez guitars I've run into a couple that had lifting bridges so I'd suggest you test them. It may be just starting so do the old put of piece of paper between the bridge and the top trick.

Humm. I've never had Tom not answer me. Maybe he's on vacation? What email did you use? Did you try calling direct?

Maybe P.M. me, OK?
