Default 2010 Taylor GC8 (Sold)

For sale is a beautiful Taylor GC8 built in July of 2010. This series is only available as a Build To Order now. Sitka top. East Indian Rosewood back and sides. Mahogany neck. Short Scale with slotted headstock. This guitar has only been out of the house a few times to be played in church. It is excellent condition. It has been my couch guitar. I'm only selling to raise money for a new custom build due to a deal with the wife. There are a couple of very small dings on the top you can only see in just the right light. These did not even break the finish much less get close to the wood itself. I could not get them to show on the camera. It has a K&K pickup professionally installed. Wonderful guitar for finger style or light strumming. Very balanced and responds to the lightest touch. I have linked the specs from the Taylor website and a couple of video demos below. I can provide specific picture requests to those seriously interested. I'm sorry about the quality of these first images. I'm asking $1,650 insurance and shipping included.

Reasonable offers considered.

Short video link added that shows off guitar a little better than pictures:

Default Re: Electronics

Thanks. The guitar has a K&K Pure mini installed which to me is one of the more natural sounding piezo pickups available. I have these installed on all my acoustics. The pickup is passive. There are no onboard electronics. I use an outboard K&K preamp (they have several) or a Fishman Aura Spectrum depending on the situation but the design does not need any preamp to work beautifully although they can certainly help enhance and shape the sound. These things can get quite loud without feedback. It has a stereo jack so an internal microphone could be added for a blend system but that would require a 9v preamp to power the mic.

Here is a link to the specs and a video of someone playing a much cheaper guitar through the same pickup.

I hope this helps.

Guys, I own this exact instrument and of all the guitars I have, this is the one I keep in a stand close at hand. Very balanced, great w/ vocals and once you play the short scale fingerstyle you will be hooked. I think this is one of Taylor's best values. He is also asking a fair price.

Thanks Tx. I really wouldn't sell it if it wasn't for the deal with the wife. Unfortunately, the trip to the Memphis Guitar Festival gave me a baaaad case of GAS!!! Those of you that live close enough and didn't make it this time shouldn't miss it in 2017. What a tremendous show.

This is a great recording guitar as well as the perfect size to sit comfortably with on the couch for hours with no shoulder discomfort.
