Default Baden Guitars

T.J Baden, who worked at Taylor started his own line..these are made in the Ayers Factory.

http://www.badenguitars.com/

I must say I am intrigued by these guitars. I like the spare clean look. They are not cheap and who know what they sound and play like. I would definitly demo them I they ever get to a dealer near me.

I think considering where they are being built and how simple their appointments are, they are very high priced. I would jump into any number of guitars before I would buy a Baden. I like TJ, but it's not a great deal. Would do much better in a Larrivee, LL Yamaha or a Chinese Guild and save a lot. Oh, yes, i have played two. Nice. Not spectacular, but very nice. Still too much.

i realise its hefty price tag too. I've tried some very nice Ayers at rather decent prices i must say..and the quality of Ayers sticks with me, but never a Baden. so it got me wondering.

thanks plaid coyote

They look like jumbo versions of the Martin Backpacker guitar.... Not a fan at all.

They'd have to sound incredible for me to even consider one. I can't say the look of them appeals to me at all. I need to have a more traditional rosette.

Guitars without them (or with minimal ones that go to the edge of the soundhole) are like faces without eyebrows

Just checked out the Madison Music site. Don't like that "Call for price" stuff.

Ditto on that; or they have a policy like Taylor, where the MAP is usually what is listed, and then "call for our discount." Actually, there are any number of guitar shops with websites that want you to call for a price (or email). It probably though (with these) means pricey.

I looked at the website, including the MSRP list there. I will keep an open mind until I try one, but from what I see on the website I am not at all inclined to go looking for one to try. Even with a discount, those prices seem too high for such an oversimplified guitar.

strange looking dreads w high start up prices for instruments relatively new to the industry. any reason why? doesn't seem like good marketing. if there are certain unique features about their instruments...they sure aren't saying it anywhere i read on their web.

Never heard of Ayers and Baden guitars...but then when I bought my first Taylor in '96, I never heard of Taylor guitars either.
