Pickups with 4 wires can be coil split easily. 2 wire a bit tricky.

You might check the tone pots, if they're 250k changing to 500k may give a brighter sound. If there's a cap going to ground you can try removing that.

Another great humbucker is the Duncan Seth Lover. I had a 59 mated with a jazz in a LP once that was nice too.

+1 on this also look into Duncan antiquity. Those are great.
