What is your favorite string??
The thread "what string would you miss most if it was gone" got me thinking, what about the opposite?
So come on. What is your favorite string?? Another question I have is, where do old strings go when they die? Like, is there a "old string graveyard" hidden somewhere in deepest darkest Africa??

I think the A string is my favorite.
Tho there is a lot to be said for the low E string. My least favorite is G. It always seems like it's too taught, not enough ring or sustain. What's up with that? |

I like my "G" string. For obvious reasons. I think when old strings die they turn into slinkies. |

That actually has ties in to the other post..about what string you could do without.

I like the octave G string on my Rickenbacker 360/12
With a 24-fret neck, I can play a note only dogs can hear (I assume the howling is a positive response) |

Though it may not get the same amount of attention as the trebles, I love the 6th (low E) string because it's so handy for quick drop tunings to D or C When used right, it really gives some songs that extra bit of depth.

A string. Deep and soronous on my Martin OMs. It growls and it grumbles. It's a bad boy.
Least favourite is the B because it's always the toughest to tune. The "major 3rd problem". |

"G" string - of course.
Oh, wait - you meant guitar string. Yeah, okay - I will stick with the same answer - "G" string.

I always need a G-string for my favourite thong.

Favorite: A — why?...why not?
Least: B — the one string that I find the most difficult to fall into tune... Really, really least favorite: G octave on a 12-string. I've broken more than I care to count....
