double neck: nylon/steel
Does anyone know of a double neck with a nylon/steel double? It would not be for me since I have enough trouble dealing with one neck. But it seems to me that a guitar that offered the dulcet sound of nylon with the hard sound of steel would be quite a tool.

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall that Alistair has done it. Maybe he or Sean will chime-in to say for sure.

Ummm, unca evy...you asked the same question in 2016. Yes, Alistair has done it.
https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...73#post5044873 Obviously it's on your mind so much that the only way to satisfy it is to order one...or you're doomed to perpetual wanna-Chimaeradom.

Acousticado;
Thank you for the reminder. Alistair has done so many variations that I've lost track. You're right, a double neck steel/nylon has been, and is, on my mind. Not that I would ever order one but I could see where such an animal would be great for a professional musician. As I noted in the one thread, I do not see acoustic compatibility with a 12 string steel and a 6 string nylon. However, I could see a 12 string nylon working well with a 6 string steel. |
