Man, this one is rough. Always loved the ABB. So Many great tunes, and what a voice Greg had. Like someone else said, the best white blues singer there was.

Live at the Filmore East, was such a great album. One of the best live albums ever for me.

The music world has lost a great one, he will be missed.

Gregs jamming with Duanne, Berry, and Butch on the big stage once again.

Greg was a huge talent as well as a great guy. RIP Greg.

God bless the Allman Brothers Band and all their survivors and spin-off bands--Gov't Mule, Tedeschi-Trucks, etc.

I was fortunate enough to see the ABB in Atlanta about 20 yrs. ago. Dickey and Warren played so tight with their harmony solos. Greg's voice was strong and soulful. I never danced so much at a concert before. One of the greatest bands ever.

Saw Greg about 3 yrs ago with his son playing lead guitar. Excellent concert! Greg's voice still had not lost much at that point. He was moving a bit slower, but could still rock the joint.

Rest in peace Greg.

Default RIP Gregg Allman

Just heard this evening that Gregg Allman has passed. I knew he had cancelled his tour but had no idea he was in such frail health. Can't begin to imagine growing up in the south (or anywhere for that matter) without The Allan Brothers Band. So many great songs...so many great memories. Thanks for all the music! Vaya con Dios!

Was at a show Saturday night where a pretty poignant rendition of Midnight Rider was played. Only 2 of the original ABB remain.

I was sad to hear the news, but not surprised, as he was in declining health for many years (and rumors of hospice care surfaced last month). I enjoyed listening to and seeing the ABB, and in 1994, they were the first of dozens (hundreds?) of concerts my wife and I have attended together.

R.I.P. Gregg

Side note: got to meet Warren Haines, Jaimoe, Marc Quinones, and Allen Woody at that show. Jamoe was incredibly gracious, and Allen actually hung around with us for about an hour, walking the amphitheater grounds b/c no one recognized him!
