I'm going for the Pens all the way but if the Predators do win I'll be happy for PK. Going to love it when/if he takes the Cup back to Montreal to the Children's hospital and at the same time sticking it to the Canadiens management .

The problem with two US teams in in the finals is that we don't get to hear "Oh, Canada" anymore.

The 'kid' that sang the national anthems in Ottawa was exceptional. He looked about 14 years old and he nailed those songs. Going to miss him but we still have Jeff Jimerson in Pittsburgh and some country stars in Nashville.

Now Rene Rancourt (Boston), he puts on a show.

Wikipedia reminds me that strictly speaking, it's "O Canada". "Oh, Canada" is another song altogether, totally unrelated to the Canadian national anthem.

I agree! I love that anthem. I really enjoyed hearing it before each game of the Sens/Pens series. What a treat!

Yipes!!!

Well that was the worst performance by a winning team in the playoffs I've ever seen. Pens manage only 12 shots on goal the entire game- 0 shots from the beginning of the second period until 3 minutes and 17 seconds were left in the game. With the exception of about 9 minutes in the first period Nashville dominated the game. Still the Pens skate away with a 5-3 win and a 1-0 series lead.

Yep, but not a total shock. They've had this low-shots stat but still winning thing for much of the playoffs. Not this extreme but it really makes you question if the scoring chances or shots on goal stat matters, at all.

Just read this morning that the Pens 12 shots on goal is the lowest total for any team in the Stanley Cup Finals history (1893 to present), win or lose.

I missed the game but read about it. I'll see some highlights tonight. Amazing that the Pens won. Sign of a Championship team when you can win these types of games.

Hard to believe that any team can go 37 minutes without a shot on net, especially the Pens.

True, but perhaps a testament to the Preds play in holding the defending SC champions for 37 min. without a shot.

Dru I tell you honestly I've never seen that type of game before. The Hockey Gods were drunk.

For sure. Gotta give credit to the Predators for that game but giving up 3 goals in 4 minutes in the first period did them in.

Game 2 tonight!
