Changing string gauge on Emerald X20
I'm thinking of trying out Elixir's HD Lights and Medium strings but I'm hesitant because I don't know if I need to get my guitar set up again. Can I just put the strings on or do I need to take it to a store? I'm using light strings right now.

I put a set on my X20 with heavier gauge bass strings, and had no issues, I think you will be fine. Try it, you can always switch back.

I was wondering that. Does the neck need setting up again since the strings pull harder?

I noticed no difference in set-up between the stock d'Addarios and the Elixir HD lights. Well, the Elixirs feel better and less string squeek. Still great tone!

A little off thread here, but I am using Martin Flex Core lights on my Emerald Artisan X20 and boy, do they sound great with good brilliance as well as good depth to each string on that guitar. No affiliation.

I've noticed there are some guitars that sound pretty darn good no matter what strings you put on them. I'm starting to think that the X20 may be one of those. Has anyone put a bad sounding string set on one?
Off topic I think. So sorry about that. I think the OP's question was answered.
