Default Block

I have my browser advanced setting set to block popups. I didn't get any after I turned it on.

If you are using a different browser other than Safari, you will continue to experience the issue unless you download/purchase a content/ad blocker that works across the entire device.

You can also install the AGF app or Tapatalk to get around it.
I’m running Safari, cleared history and website data, and installed the Purify app...and it’s still happening.

Edit: I just looked within Safari and although I downloaded Purify, it wasn’t turned on. So I just did that. Will see what happens.

Edit 2: Seems stable now after not just installing Purify, but turning it on within Safari.

Yes, that's why I mentioned "configured" in regards to a content blocker. They have to enabled within Safari settings to work.

On my Apple devices I needed to do 2 things. (Which I now do regularly)
1. Settings>Privacy>Advertising>Reset Advertising Identity
2. Settings>Safari>Clear History/Website Data

Default Is AGF Infected?

While accessing AGF via my iPad, when I open a thread, I get that stupid "Congratulations Amazon.com User' pop-up ad that hijacks my Safari session. It started last night and doesn't seem to happen with Chrome, or when using Safari on my iPhone. I even went as far as to wipe/reset the iPad and restore from a backup and it still happens - after I had, several times, cleared website data and browser history. Is this happening to anyone else? Does anyone have any suggestion on how to remove this?

Thanks in advance.

So is AGF infected or are these ads/sponsors of AGF?

AGF isn't "infected" per se, just another bad ad from the Google ad network that we need to get rid of. In fact, I just experienced the issue in question on CNN’s website. Unfortunately we don't have much control over the content that is displayed and can only function in a reactionary role to things like this. No way would we knowingly allow an ad of this sort.

Suggestions for avoiding this were provided earlier in this thread: install the AGF app from the App Store, or use an ad blocker until the bad ad is removed.

I would like to develop some type of app that every time you get one of the scamming pop-ups the blocks you from being on the website you were on that it automatically bounces back the same message to them and blocks them.

I installed ADblock plus today for this very reason. Haven’t seen the ad since.

The ad has been submitted to Google to be blocked. We needed to determine its exact origin. Sorry for the inconvenience.
