The Recording King RP1-16C is a really nice guitar. It's got a torrefied top and beautiful tone. It sounds like a much bigger guitar. It's the nicest Parlor I've played outside of my 1889 Washburn.

Seagull Coastline Grand. My wife has a now discontinued Entourage grand w/a Cedar top. It is a stellar little instrument. Warm, woody and resonant.

The Alvarez stuff is good too, but the guitars they designate as parlors are really 00 in size.

The RK RP-06 and RP-10 are both surprisingly good too, but have necks like baseball bats. I like that, but most people would not.

The Recording King RP-06 is a much nicer guitar than the RPH-05, but not much more in terms of price.

Not really a parlor, but you might consider a Taylor GS Mini or a Martin Dread Jr.

Great guitar but the OP is asking for an 0 size, not a 00.

Default A&L Ami

Chiming in on the A&L Ami. Sounds great for a parlor guitar. I use it as my travel and campfire guitar. I think it would be great for a first guitar because of it's a smaller sized guitar that you never out grow.

Find them used on Reverb.

Bandbud has a nice Kala - 0-size 12-fret slothead, solid spruce/hog, very comfortable for a 1-3/4" neck (I'm not a fan) and sounds way bigger than it is - that he fitted with a K&K and uses for most of our gigs; may have been discontinued, but TMK there are still a few NOS pieces out there - should be able to snag one for around $400+/- if you shop around...

I played a used Crafter parlor guitar at GC the other day, it was $500 but had solid rosewood under solid spruce. It sounded good.

I just ordered an alvarez ap610shb. I've been having problems with my left arm lately from playing my dread as I have to sit to play due to a broken back 3 years ago. Anyways, I decided to sell the dread this week and order something smaller to play at home. Hopefully the Alvarez works out. I really didn't want to give up playing guitar after playing since age 14 (I'm 40 now)

Gretsch G9511. Looks, feels, and sounds much nicer than I would expect at that price point. They’ve got a few different guitars in that line with slightly different sizes (0, 00, 000) and variations on trim.

Default Taylor GS Mini

My offering. Taylor sells a zillion of these for good reason, and they can be readily sold off with little trouble. They work fine, they're the entry to Taylor's NT neck guitars (all but the Baby and Big Baby). Serious lifetime keeper instrument.

I have a Crafter TA050/AM I bought a few years back from a local music store. It already had a LR Baggs under saddle and sounds great plugged and even better unplugged. I caught the owner of the shop on a good day. Paid $325

Recording king RP-10 can be found for under $200 (used and stupid deal of day often at MF) and has scalloped bracing, dovetail neck, all solid woods. I have had a couple of them as well as the ROS-10 000 and found the "10" series from RK is the best bang for the buck of any acoustic guitar. And I have had a couple of those alvarez parlor guitars that are very nice perhaps you can find a discounted Alvarez Mastercraft series for $400 and that would be a nice alternative, I have seen the hog versions for $350-$400 often. Another fine option would be a RP1-626 used they can be found for around $00 as well. THese are schoenberg designed, engleman top, high quality mahogany B&S and all the appointments of a guitar prices many times more. I have the RP2-626C I gave it to my son and it is simply an excellent example.
