Just excused from some plans and now free to go for at least a day or 2. Never been to one of these affairs and very excited. Will see if I can drag friend and AGFer Bix along. Will be nice to meet some of you folks also attending.

Jeff

I just want to say that if anyone is on the fence about this and you aren't in the market for a new guitar, just go anyway. I went to the Woodstock show only because I got to take a clinic with Happy Traum, but I was Blown Away by the show. It's like one after another and another of the most beautiful guitars you'll ever see. The players demonstrating the guitars are amazing and just sitting listening to them is like a concert.

Just go, you will not be disappointed.

I plan to be there again this year, likely with my newly commissioned Borghino BB1 Custom nylon string jazz guitar in hand. I also will be facilitating the song circle Sat. night and the Sunday AM String Community Gathering in the Harris room. See website for details--should be great fun! Ken

If you are staying overnight, yes. People will get together and play after hours. During the day, instruments not being exhibited are typically kept out of the room. Unless you have a room of your own to keep them, it is a pain in the but to have them there. Besides, its cold and dry in your car.

A couple thoughts...

1) Yes they do have a number large quiet rooms outside the main exhibition hall
2) Inside the main hall, the luhiers have large spaces with small audition areas

Last year, I could honestly hear just fine due to the lighter crowds of a first year show. This year with more people attending, we will have to see. The space was really excellent as these types of shows go.

I will be there on Saturday. Would like to attend on Sunday as well, but I have TE tickets for that day. Life is tough sometimes.

I attended last year and found it to be a great show. It had a very well organized exhibition floor spacing exhibitors well to allow for decent auditioning acoustics. They also had large, quiet audition rooms adjacent to the main room. At night, the event being in a hotel allows for great socialization, on-site concerts and evening playing as well. Harrisburg is about 1 hour from Baltimore, 2 hours from Philadelphia or Washington DC and 3 hours from New York City or Pittsburgh.

I am planning on attending. Who else is planning on coming?
I see luthiers on this list that are not listed as exhibitors at Artisan's website. I'm just wondering, where did this list come from, and is it accurate?

Thanks.

Tim, Adrianne and I will be there! We are signed up and ready to sign into our motel room. I hope you will all stop by and say Hello. Pick up a guitar that Tim will have on display and check out Adrianne's Ambrosia Maple guitar she has made with this show in mind.

And me? Also, please say, "Hi" to me, too. I'm nobody important, but I'll be there handing out a few McKnight goodies periodically throughout the show.

Can't wait to see you all in a few weeks!

Team WILS will be in attendance! M'self and WILS Production Partners Mark Heller and Sharon Klein are looking forward to a busman's holiday! We're too busy at our own show to get to play guitars, talk to builders, players and friends, enjoy the company and community. Thanks to John Detrick for being such a gracious host. Last year's first Artisan was a great show, beautifully produced, but fairly sparsely attended. This year's is looking to have a great turn out, and we're looking forward to meeting y'all there!
