Default Ordered a Mandolin today - Eastman MD-605 Sunburst

Never played a mandolin before, but have been thinking about it for a while, couldn't get the idea out of my head, you know how that goes. :-)

Bought this one:

http://themandolinstore.com/product/...tric-sunburst/

By the time it arrives some music, strings, and a strap should arrive too.

I wonder if it will become my travel "guitar" this holiday season. :-)

Joined up over at mandolin café so I'll bother those guys with most of my mandolin stuff, but thought I would mention I joined the mandolin-playing crowd here too.

That's a good choice for a mando and it will serve you well no doubt. Get ready for some sore fingertips!

Mandolins are pesky little buggers, and I love that unique sound. The Mandolin Store is the place to go for any level of mandolin. They know their stuff and are straight shooters.

Best of luck.

Thanks guys, now for the infamous GASsy waiting period when you special order something, probably be about two weeks before I see it.

I have to pretend I didn't see that banjo there, I don't want to get any more ideas before my mandolin arrives... :-)

Love me an Eastman Mando kurth83! Got me a MD-315 myself as a first Mando. Been loving it ever since. Congrats on your new addition!

I had to laugh when I look in to see the NMD post and read that the OP had never played mandolin before and had just ordered his first. Then looked in his sig and saw two mandolins! That's faster than me!

I like the Eastman mandolins. I bought a MD904 about a year ago. Just made a trade so a Dawg (Eastman DGM-1) is coming my way next week!
