Ryan Adams on The Great Songwriters
A 4-part interview with Ryan Adams on how he became a musician and songwriter, his first time picking up a guitar where he instinctively tuned to open tuning because standard tuning sounded wrong, how he writes songs, along with some solo acoustic performances at the end of each video.
The Parts 2 and 3 are the best, especially his answer to the question "Why do you think music is so important?" in Part 2 from 5:29 on, and at the beginning of Part 3 his discussion of his method of writing he calls "stacking." Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4

Thanks for the link!
I'm kind of surprised by the tone he's able to get fingering that 12 string. Any idea what he's playing? |

Clearly I need to get my eyes checked, or adjust my TV because I just watched the third video and that is definitely not a 12 string.
Anyway, love the third video. He makes songwriting look way too easy. T |

Thanks for posting. Ryan Adams is one of my favorite songwriters/performers. His writing process was very interesting. May have to give that method a try.
